THANE: The civic-administration has eased the norms concerning the fire NOC and change of user (COU) required for renewal of registration of nursing homes, clinics and maternity hospitals operating from residential premises.
All such medical care units were ordered by the to submit fire NOC and COU within 10 days of submitting their proposal for renewal of registration of their premises.

“However, following the intervention by guardian minister Eknath Shinde, the TMC formed a new policy in July 2018 which stated that fire NOC is not required when applying for renewal of our old registration,” said Dr. Dinkar Desai, president of IMA Thane.

The doctors stated that now they have ample time to submit the COU as there is no more a deadline of 10 days and even there is no risk that their registrations will be cancelled.

The IMA doctors had reached out for help to Eknath Shinde and had even written letters to the TMC commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal regarding the matter after which the whole confusion got resolved.
