IDUKKI: The police on Saturday took into custody three people from in connection with the Mundanmudi murder case.
Those nabbed were Pangode native Shibu, Thaconam native Irshad and retired police officer Rajshekaran. They will be handed over to Idukki police for detailed interrogation.
This follows three days after the bodies were found in the backyard of the home of Mundanmudi native Kanat Krishnan (51), wife Susheela (47), daughter Arsha(21) and son Arjun (17). The bodies were buried in a newly-constructed pit.
The police on Friday took a Nedumkandam native and a native, who was the assistant of Krishnan, in connection with the case.
The police claimed that they received concrete evidence from the Thiruvananthapuram native in connection with the murder.
Meanwhile, a telephonic conversation of Shibu is out in which he tells his friend that he will get crores of rupees, but before that he should hand over Rs 50,000 to the business chief of the deal.
The police said that Shibu was involved in many financial dealings at Thodupuzha and a detailed probe was on into them.
Meanwhile, the police collected evidence from astrologists from various parts. They said that Krishnan had been moving around many places for doing witchcraft. Police believe that Krishnan‘s shady financial dealings related to black magic might have led to the murders.
The investigation is being carried out by a 25-member special police team under Thodupuzha DSP K P Jose.
