JALANDHAR: A was arrested by (rural) police and 550 grams recovered from her on the basis of information provided by a local peddler. It happened a day after a Ghana national was arrested with 600g heroin.
Jalandhar (rural) SSP Navjot Singh Mahal said a team led by sub-inspector Ramandeep Singh nabbed one Amit Kumar alias Kaka, 22, a resident of Mohalla Krar Khan in Jalandhar, and recovered 20g of heroin from him on Wednesday.

“During the preliminary questioning he revealed that he had bought the contraband from Shufaa Haruna, a Tanzania national living in Navada Mohani Garden, near Uttam Nagar, Delhi. The police team then included her name in the case and arrested her from Murthal in Haryana and recovered 550g of heroin from her,” said Mahal.

After her arrested, Shufaa revealed that she had been living in Delhi for the last around one year and was involved in drug peddling and she used to deliver heroin in Jalandhar and Delhi.

In a separate case, sleuths of the crime investigation agency-1 (CIA-1) led by inspector Harinder Singh arrested Ram Bahadur, 55, a resident of Navdia village in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Kuldip Singh alias Baba, a resident of Ludhiana, with 5.2kg opium.

“Their questioning revealed that Ram Bahadur had brought the contraband from Jharkhand to supply it in Punjab.
