GREATER NOIDA: The district administration has imposed under of CrPC in the district for the next two months.
Section 144 prevents a group of people from congregating with an intention of disturbing public tranquility or the assembly of people armed with weapons.
Additional district magistrate Kumar Vineet said the section, which prohibits assembly of more than four persons in an area, had been implemented to ensure law and order during the religious events and festivals that will coincide with the written exams of the state training institutes.
“Section 144 has been implemented for two months from July 31 as a preventive measure to ensure law and order in the district,” Kumar Vineed explained. “Important events such as Independence Day, exams of the training institutes and festivals such as Shivratri, Id-ul-Zuha, Raksha Bandhan and Janamashtmi will fall in the coming days. The section is implemented to prevent anti-social elements from creating tension and disrupting peace,” Kumar Vineet added.
