JALANDHAR: A team of police on Sunday visited the pastoral centre adjoining Trinity College in connection with a rape case lodged by a against bishop of the diocese of .

Later in the day, they recorded the statement of a church priest at Majitha in , who is a cousin of the complainant nun.

At the pastoral centre they remained for around five hours and recorded statements of two priests apart from informal questioning. The complainant nun had alleged that the used to call the nuns to his room individually after holding the meetings with them.

It is learnt that the two priests were asked about the meetings presided over by the bishop with nuns, their schedule and the format.

However, diocese PRO Father said the meetings were started after nuns had asked for these to be held for deliberations and the bishop never met any nun in isolation.

Later, they met the priest in Majitha, who works under the same diocese, and recorded his statement. This priest is a cousin of the complainant nun and is supporting her version. He told TOI that his cousin had told him about the issues she was facing.
