Thiruvananthapuram: The Mini Tennis Tournament 2018 organized by Trivandrum Tennis club concluded here on Sunday. The two-day tournament, which was organized in association with Terumo Penpol was held in the four age groups such as under-6, under-8, under-10 and under-12 at Trivandrum Tennis Club. Abhinand S D (U-6), Sree Karthik A R (U-8 & U-10) Sreenath V S (U-12) are the winners in the boys‘ category and Nandika T Nair (U-6), Pavithra M (U-8), Natelle Rochelle (U-10) and Megha Gautham (U-12) are the winners in the girls‘ category.
Tennis club secretary Anil Kumar Pandala said that the tournament was aimed at introducing talented tiny tots to the world of tennis. “People think that tennis is a power game, unsuitable for small children. Mini tennis uses small racquets, softer balls, tiny nets and courts. Trivandrum Tennis Club is the first in the country to conduct this as a tournament,” he said.

As many as 182 players from various parts of the state participated in the tournament. the secretary of tennis club the tournament aimed at introducing talented tiny tots to the world of tennis. MLA K Muraleedharan presented trophies, medals and certificates to the winners. tnn
