AMBALA: The civic body here is planning to establish a survey team that will check nearly 500 . The team would inspect buildings that were built without approved construction maps or were violating other norms.
The decision has been taken after a resident of Gurgaon, Supriya, submitted a survey report of 500 erring properties in the city and its cantonment areas.
These are the buildings that have either encroached MC properties, converted residential properties to commercial, or have no approved construction maps.
In her survey, Supriya found that the owners who had converted the residential properties to commercial were not giving any commercial to the MC.
“The MC has not taken any action against the erring property owners,” Supriya alleged and said she would be filing a petition in the high court in this regard.
“Our teams will be checking illegal constructions and suitable action as per law will be taken against the erring property owners. As of now, we have served legal notices to concerned property owners. We are waiting for their replies,” said MC joint commissioner Gagandeep Singh.
