GREATER NOIDA: A 25-year-old salesman at a was allegedly shot dead by a customer on Wednesday night after an argument broke out between them when the former charged an extra Rs 10 for the items he had sold. No one has been arrested in the case till late on Thursday.

The salesman, Kuldeep Nagar, from Gulaothi village in , worked at a shop near a market of building material in Aechar village of .

Police said that around 9.30pm, the three men came to the shop to buy alcohol and they ended up having an argument with Kuldeep. Soon, one of them pulled out a gun and fired three shots at him. Two bullets hit Kuldeep in the abdomen and chest and he collapsed at the spot. The three then fled on a bike firing in the air.

“Prima facie, it seems that two men fired bullets at the victim after being charged Rs 10 extra. A case of an old enmity has also been reported. The victim was rushed to the nearby Ivory hospital in Kasna where he was declared dead on arrival. The body has been sent for an autopsy,” said Vineet Jaiswal, SP (rural).

Later, Kuldeep’s family filed a police complaint against the three men and also told the police that a similar altercation had taken place a few days ago.

“The same youths had assaulted my nephew on March 19 when he refused to sell them alcohol, as it was past 10 pm and the shop was closed. On Thursday, the three men returned, picked up a fight and fired at him,” alleged Kuldeep’s uncle Vikas Nagar in his complaint.

Two accused have been identified as Surendra, from Sector 36 in Kasna, and Raju Gurjar from Bhoopkhedi in Ghaziabad. The identity of the third person has not been established yet.

The three have been booked under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder). “We are trying to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage that we got from the shop. They will be arrested soon,” said Ajay Kumar, the SHO of Kasna police station.
