Vadodara: The local crime branch of Panchmahal police seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 22 lakh and arrested one person near Parvadi village in Panchmahal on Sunday.
According to police, they had received information that a driver transporting illicit liquor had stopped at a highway hotel for snacks. When the cops reached there, they found the said truck and its driver Ramtej Singh. Police then checked the carrier of the truck and found 379 boxes containing 5,052 bottles of liquor of different brands.

Police arrested Singh, who is a native of Punjab, and registered a case of prohibition against him at Godhra Taluka police station. During Singh’s interrogation police learnt that the liquor stock was loaded from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. He was asked by the supplier to take the truck towards Ahmedabad and was instructed that he will receive a call from a specific mobile number for further directions.

However, Singh did not reveal name of the supplier to the cops. A police official said that they are trying to track down the supplier on the basis of call detail records of the number that was given to Singh.
