HYDERABAD: You no longer need a smartphone to book a cab and it is a god-send for senior citizens in the city.
Leading cab aggregators have begun to set up kiosks at key metro stations, railway terminals, airport and prominent hospitals for last mile connectivity. There are around 17 such kiosks, mostly by Ola, in the city.

The aggregator has tied up with South Central Railway (SCR), L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd (LTMRHL), and leading hospitals to carve out demarked zones where people with and without smartphones can avail of the app-based cab rides. They have to share only their mobile numbers and volunteers manning the kiosks will help them get the OTPs generated to their numbers.

Sandeep Upadhyay, head of operations, Ola, Hyderabad, said kiosks at premier city hospitals, including Apollo, , and KIMS, have recorded 50 per cent growth in bookings, while the same has gone up at railway stations by 25 per cent.
