Coimbatore: , , , , scrubs and pastries at the yearly Gourmet Bazaar conducted at Whispering Stones in Uppilipalayam here attracted hundreds of people on Saturday.
Those who wanted to enjoy an afternoon filled with assorted scrumptious delights had Spanish churros, flavoured popcorn, quiche, pork burgers, dessert in jars in multiple flavours, pizzas, ice-cream sandwiches and the Burmese khow suey to choose from.

Sweet and spicy food that could suit anyone’s taste buds was another attraction. “For people like me, who have an incurable sweet tooth and chocolate addiction, this bazaar seems to be heaven. They have cupcakes, tarts, fudge sauces, cookies and biscuits. Each chocolate tastes different,” says Anisa Mahesh, a visitor.

To keep restless children stay occupied, the bazaar had a craft and colouring corner as well as a sports corner.

It was a blessing for mothers, who loaded up on tasty ingredients so they could prepare snacks for school-going children. “I bought brownies, jams, chocolate spreads, fudge sauces, cheese, nut butter and granola, which I hope will help me prepare different snacks for my children after school for a month at least,” said G Shimna, a mother of a teenager and a pre-teen.

The bazaar had a farmers market and organic rice and grain stalls. Many of them also sold vegetables and honey straight from the farms and forests. Health-conscious mothers and youngsters were seen making a beeline for them.
