Nagpur: A speeding goods carrier SUV caused a pile-up involving three four-wheelers on East High Court Road behind Neeri on Friday. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
According to cops, traffic had halted on the road as a crane was being reversed near the Neeri’s rear gate. A few four-wheelers had stopped in the lane waiting the road to be cleared when a speedily driven goods carrier SUV rammed into a stationary car, driven by Nupur Bhide, an LLB student, from behind. The impact was so severe that Bhide’s vehicle collided with a car in front of her vehicle, which also dashed against a four-wheeler ahead.
All the three cars were damaged in the incident. Police said that the goods carrier driver Anil Kurhade, 26, a resident of Khamla, lost control over the vehicle causing the mishap. Kurhade was booked under sections 279, 337, 427 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and arrested.
