NEW DELHI: A barged into a private firm in Mundka Industrial Area, held its employees captive at gunpoint and fled with approximately Rs 20 lakh early on Monday.
A case was registered at the Mundka police station after the incident was reported by the company‘s cashier, Pankaj, who was among the staff working late into Sunday night. After hearing some noise outside his cabin, Pankaj got up to check but before he could go out, three men with muffled faces barged in and held him at gunpoint.
While two men held pistols at his head, their associate gathered all cash from the safe, Pankaj told cops. As the trio took Pankaj out of his cabin, he found more armed men who had taken other employees of the company, including the guard, hostage. The gang took all employees to the warehouse and locked them in before fleeing. Those who dared to resist were thrashed by the robbers.
In 10 minutes, the men took away all valuables and drove away. Later, the guard managed to free himself. After the police reached the scene of crime, they recorded everybody‘s statements and registered the case.
Pankaj said the three men who had entered his cabin later dropped their covers.
