NEW DELHI: on Saturday released its 7th cutoff list. This is expected to be the last list for general category students. According to officials, while an 8th list is expected, it will be open for only those in the reserved category.
While seats in key course like economics, political science and journalism still remain vacant in the general category, language and vocational studies courses also continue to remain open for the general category. More options are available to those in the SC/ST categories.
Interestingly, sought-after girls’ colleges like Kamala Nehru and still have seats in economics in the general category, as well as in the reserved categories. Officials said this usually happens when students migrate to other courses in preferred colleges once cutoffs drop in the subsequent lists. Students, they said, also move to finance-based courses, which take admissions through entrance as and when their counselling takes place, thus leaving seats open for admission later.
