NEW DELHI: The is all set to soar within the next three days with the IMD forecasting the maximum temperature to be by Saturday.

Delhi recorded a high of 31.6° on Wednesday, considered normal for this time of the season. Officials, however, say that a rise of almost five degrees is likely to occur by Saturday.

The regional met department in Delhi said there is a possibility of thundery development and light rain on Saturday, which could bring down the temperature. “The maximum could rise to 35° C by Friday and 36° C by Saturday before it starts falling again. We expect strong surface winds and overcast conditions on Saturday, which could provide a cooling effect,” said a senior met official.

With a reading of 171, Delhi’s on Wednesday was classified in the ‘moderate’ category.
