RAJKOT: The ruling BJP of (RMC) is bracing up for a tough time, as the has decided to take up the issues of a BJP leader’s alleged tiff with a cop during the recent anti-encroachment drive which resulted in his transfer as well as the alleged in during the general board meeting on Monday.

During the anti-encroachment drive on last Sunday in Para Bazar, BJP worker Dinesh Karia did not allow razing the margin area covered outside his shop. Police detained him and the illegal area was removed. However, he had a heated altercation with Rajkot A division police inspector B P Sonara, who was transferred for his alleged misbehaviour the very next day.

After this, Karia allegedly reconstructed the removed portion which the Congress is demanding to be removed again. Congress corporator Mansukh Kalaria said “We will meet at 10 am before the general board meeting starts at 11 am, and we will include this issue in the agenda and question the BJP on it.”

The other tough issue the BJP has to face is the marathon scam. The Congress had already included this issue a week before in the agenda and sought details of the marathon scam and the expenditure spent on it. “We will be questioning the BJP about the registration numbers of the hired cars, autorickshaws and two-wheelers. The bills pertaining to more than a dozen cars were submitted. However, when checked the registration numbers of the hired cars turned out to be those of autorickshaws and two-wheelers. There will also be questions on newly implemented carpet area-based tax system,” said a Congress leader.
