Cheated by business partner, depressed taxi driver ends life

PATIALA: A 32-year-old man shot himself dead in his house with his licensed weapon on Monday morning in city.
The police revealed that the deceased has been identified as Sandeep Sharma, who owned a taxi and was also a driver. He had been running his business in partnership. He was grappling with stress and depression after being cheated by his partner who did not return his money.

The police have registered a case of abetment to suicide under sections of Indian Penal Code against the accused Vicky. The deceased had left behind his wife and a minor son with whom he was living in Deep Nagar area of the city.

“We have registered a case under sections of abetment to suicide against the accused on the complaint of the wife of the deceased. The complainant alleged that Sandeep Sharma was depressed after the accused refused to return his money that he had once borrowed. Moreover, he had cheated as a result of which Sandeep suffered losses and ended up killing himself at his residence,” said SHO Tripuri.

He was rushed to Government Rajindra Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
