BENGALURU: The opposition BJP on Saturday accused public works department (PWD) minister of being involved in a cash-for-transfer scam and also interfering in the day-to-day administration of Karnataka, which has got nothing to do with his office.
“Why is Revanna interfering in administration matters? Why is he transferring officials of departments which are not at all connected with his? This suggests that there is a major cash-for-transfer scam brewing underneath,” BJP state president and opposition leader BS Yeddyurappa alleged at the party’s Bengaluru urban district executive committee meeting here.

He also alleged that corruption has become rampant in the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in the state.

Yeddyurappa also took a dig at former Prime Minister . “I have great regard for Devegowda. But he is allowing the misdoings by his sons,” he said.

Yeddyurappa also described the recent meeting between Devegowda and chief minister in New Delhi as “unfortunate”.

Union minister DV Sadananda Gowda took exception to Kumaraswamy weeping in public saying a chief minister should not do so. “He should be bold enough to face challenges. There is a limit to weeping… I don’t know why he uses a hand towel at public meetings. I suspect he uses some balm to bring tears instantly,” Gowda said.
