B‘luru: 11 teens caught wheeling on NICE Road

BENGALURU: City police detained 11 teenagers on Sunday for performing dangerous stunts, including wheeling on , and seized 19 from the spot.

Police said the drive was conducted by Kumaraswamy Layout , with help from the jurisdictional Talaghattapura law and order cops, around 1pm. The police spotted teenagers engaging in , but several of them managed to escape from the spot, leaving their vehicles behind.

However, police nabbed 11 teenagers and took them to the police station. “None of them had driving licences but all of them claimed to be majors. But we suspect many of them are minors and have ed their parents to produce age proof and documents of the vehicles,” a police officer said.

He said the detained teenagers could be released on bail, but their vehicles would remain in the police station.

“We registered an FIR against the riders, and will file a chargesheet before court. Punishment includes a fine, and

parents could be booked if their negligence resulted in their kids taking their vehicles to perform dangerous stunts on roads,” he said.

Police said the Sompura stretch of NICE Road was known for teenagers performing stunts on weekends. Police have decided to conduct inspections on the stretch to put a stop to dangerous bike stunts.
