PATNA: Auto drivers on Saturday staged a near Patna Junction against the Ganga Savari, a mobile app-based taxi service which was launched recently.
The agitators alleged the was also providing offline auto and e-rickshaw services to passengers and demanded that its services be confined to online taxi services.
Having assembled near the Ganga Savari counter, the protesters also urged the railway officials to monitor the online taxi services, said Patna Zila Auto-rickshaw Chalak Sangh secretary Ranjeet Kumar.
The Sangh threatened a chakka jam in the city if its demands were not met by Monday. A delegation also met inspector Ravi Prakash and submitted a charter of demands in this regard.
Sangh general secretary Bijli Prasad said the GRP inspector assured appropriate action. “Danapur DRM Ranjan Prasad Thakur had earlier assured us that the new taxi service would not create trouble for us,” he said.
