According to Konaje police, the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Sameer, a patient suffering from a knee ailment, had arrived to the Mangaluru Junction Railway Station from Kerala, and hired an autorickshaw belonging to Vasanth Shetty, a resident of Kavoor, to go to Derlakatte. However, while getting down from the autorickshaw near the hospital, the passenger forgot to collect his bag, which contained Rs 1.1 lakh, which was brought to pay for the treatment.
Meanwhile, Sameer immediately called the and informed about the incident. He also ed local autorickshaw drivers, who park their vehicle outside the hospital. Vasanth, who noticed the bag on the back seat of the autorickshaw, informed personnel at the jurisdictional police station about the bag. He later returned the bag to the owner in the presence of police personnel.
