AGRA: A BA student of () was booked by police on Sunday for allegedly making controversial comments on social media against former prime minister .
The student, Umar Rana, has been booked under section 153a (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, language) and 153b (by words either spoken or written) of IPC on the basis of a complaint filed by a policeman under civil lines police station. He has however not been arrested so far.
In his post, Rana raised objections to the closure of the university on Vajpayee’s death and posted material relating to Babri Mazjid with it.
The university has also decided to issue a show cause notice to the student, who was not available in the campus on Sunday. However, he has deleted the post from his Facebook account.
Confirming this, proctor of the university, Mohsin Khan said that the student will be issued the show cause notice seeking explanation for making such controversial comments on social media.
